SUMMER 2024 — IBIZA
The bag that started it all.
Rori was in Ibiza with friends. Salt in her hair, wandering Las Dalias night market, when she spotted it — a beaded bag on a stranger’s shoulder. Hand-stitched, the kind of color story that doesn’t exist in stores. She tracked down the vendor and bought one. That night, three different girls stopped her to ask where it was from. She didn’t have an answer.
FALL 2024 — BACK IN BEIRUT
The idea wouldn’t leave.
The bag sat on Rori’s shelf, getting compliments every time she left the house with it. Beirut girls have an eye. They don’t ask about basic things. The questions kept coming — where, who, can you get me one? She called Raya. Raya didn’t need convincing.
JANUARY 2025 — BEADSPOPP IS BORN
Eleven days. One photo. Four hours.
The first bag took eleven days to make. Beaded by hand in Beirut, in colors no one else was using. We launched as BeadsPopp, posted one photo to Instagram, and the bag sold in four hours. We knew.
MID 2025 — ENTER CHILI
All attitude, no chill.
Somewhere between bag two and bag twelve, Chili was born. A tiny chili pepper character with main-character energy. Started as a sticker tucked inside every bag. Now she’s everywhere — watching, judging, refusing to behave.
LATE 2025 — THE REBRAND
BeadsPopp becomes Hot Girl Mess.
The bags were getting louder. The community was getting bolder. BeadsPopp didn’t fit anymore — it was a name for a side project, not a movement. So we became Hot Girl Mess. Same hands. Same Beirut. Same one-of-one obsession. Just a name that finally matched the energy.
